    Hey there poor neglected blog ;-) , wanted to make sure you had seen these new bakfietsen, made in New Jersey and for sale in NYC, much more affordable that getting one from the Netherlands.

    Hey Lex,

    They are SO MUCH more affordable...but they also have an incredibly poor reputation among bakfiets enthusiasts. These ones are made in China and they come in a box, meaning the purchaser has to either assemble them hirself or hire a local shop to do it.

    I don't know if these are the same as the truly terrible ones seen rusting away in Holland, but they seem of the same ilk.
